Well as David Bowie says, " Turn and face the changes" . I think this should be the motto for the Kucera household this fall. Katelyn will be a freshman at MCC and Hana will be a senior at BV University. I will be starting a new job at Educare this fall. Trainings start tomorrow the 8th and well let's just say I am back to work :) This is quite a relief to me since my position I held for 5 years at the high school was eliminated due to budget cuts. Guess we can thank the government for that !! I liked what I did very much, and I learned a lot-- but it is time to move on. I am very thankful to have a job !! I am looking forward to all I have to learn. I feel this job will be rewarding, and possibily a bit challenging at times, but I am ready for it!! We are also farming this year, and let's just say what a rollercoaster it has been this year with all mother nature has thrown our way. Wind, too much rain, not enough rain, drecho need I go on ?? I guess we will find out at harvest time if we were able to catch all the curve balls that have been thrown at us this year. My chickens continue to grow. 7 of the roosters were recently butchered-- thanks dad for being my driver :) Hopefully by September there will be eggs in the chicken house ! The Muscovy Ducks are also growing . I am looking forward to their eggs also. We might hatch a few of them to add to our duck herd. The brown duck that I call Winkin is a rogue one. Meaning she continues to "fly" out of the pen and then torments the chickens !! My plan is to let them free range once I get our dog Lola trained not to chase or kill the ducks !! The ducks are able to take care of themselvs as far as the cats are concerned-- well the dog is a different story. So as you can see change is evident in our household. And I need to get back to work before the daylight is gone. I hope you and yours are safe and sound, until next time;)
Beadingly yours,
Jennifer
